What does it mean to be inspired?
Opening your eyes-
To look at a minute detail of beauty in this world,
And feel compelled
Feel Urged,
Feel
forcefully pushed out of yourself,
To fall
aimlessly into the void between your body and your spirit
To a place of sudden movement in your soul
To a place of jazz-
Dancing through your fingertips,
Backbone of bass line,
Corners of
the mind mingled up in the muddled marrying of percussion and trumpets
What does it mean to be inspired?
Awakening-
A prompting of your lust,
Making you feel so big and so small-
Simultaneously
Alive with energy, dancing through your body
But paralyzed with fear
Crippled in self doubt,
Eating-
Gnawing-
Secretly penetrating
your aspirations for freedom of self
A freedom so innately belonging to us all,
A freedom so innately belonging to us all,
Yet
rarely grasped by any of us-
An
elusive vagabond- both inherent, yet nakedly unurtured by all
Taunting-
Teasing-
Testing
the strength of our innate nuances-
Testing that which
makes us all tick, tock, rock, roll, wander, wade and search endlessly for
more.
What does it
mean to be inspired?
Managing contradiction-
With our capabilities
so expansive,
But
mentalities so enclosed
We are
jointly inflated with promise, with poise and passion
Yet, dejected – cursed with the
cancer of boredom
A boredom
that sickens both the unmotivated,
And the
insatiably restless, alike.
It’s only yourself
that they want you to fear
It is your
own life potential that compels, yet terrifies you
The society
in which you live, which begs for adherence and mindless following
In a world of
competition, a marathon race
Pitted
against our own neighbors
Jockeying for
position,
In the arena-
With the blood thirty audience-
With the ruthless judge
& savage jury-
With the superficial
scoreboard of reality TV
Where the
grappling of oneself against the notions and images of our peers,
Leaves all
parties scrambling-
Scratching and clawing like ugly,
aimless, blind filed mice
Pushing us
all apart from each other,
Apart from ourselves
And the great
puppeteers rely on our discontent,
To continue
moving the machine forward
To continue
playing the masochist game
To slog, to sift, to drag our heads, our hand and our heavy hearts around
Without ever
asking, “why?”
To feel
helpless and drained
To think and live as a separated drone
Alone and disjointed from others,
Needing to scream and shout and fight to assert themselves.
Alone and disjointed from others,
Needing to scream and shout and fight to assert themselves.
What does it mean to be inspired?
Withstanding through perseverance-
From hope, you continue to dance
They can’t bottle, or contain, or block you out from it
Shine inside
it, moving with fire under the soles of your feet
Move in the expectations
of a life-
Of a love-
Of an unmapped journey
That asks nothing of you in return,
except enjoyment and fully opened eyes
And breathe
in FEAR!
It’s not the
enemy,
But a naturally
occurring catalyst for change,
Our built in system of drive
With both
negative tendencies, and gentle probing
And it can only
eat you up, if you let it.
What does it
mean to be inspired?
Starting
Over-
So you sing
And you
scream,
In madness-
In delirium-
In the hysteria, the absurdity,
the utter freedom
Of a life without predetermined direction
Of a life with fear as your friend, no longer your foe
Of a life post- apocalyptic, with the walled confines of civility
broken-
And
crumbling-
And
smoldering from ash
To wipe the landscape clean
And start the journey over,
In bare,
primitive, simplicity
Feeling reborn
A world uncontaminated, unconfined, untouched -
Rooted solely in the perfection of your own powerful
potential
Aching for an undetermined canvas
With the deafening pitter patter of aimless creative
thought,
Dancing your mind into a world limitless and anew
Created of each our limitless magnitudes, yet bound by the
million finite lives-
Existing within it.
What does it mean to be inspired?
Translating this to reality.
